Academic / Life Skill Support

Academic Support Structures are put in place to collaborate with universities to leverage mentorship programmes to assist students with their studies whilst in residence.Life Skills Programmes commence shortly after the residence intake has settled. The objective of the programmes / courses will be to make a meaningful difference to students by equipping them with tools learned in programmes to cope with basic life skills.

Sport & Recreational Programmes

Shaka assists with forming and supporting sporting teams in each residence with the due objective of bringing people together and making the students feel part of the Shaka community.Clubs and Societies are established to encourage students to socialize and integrate with one another and leverage Shaka infrastructure to make students part of the social curricula.

Social, Community & Environmental Engagement

Social responsibility programmes not only drive personal development but enhance community building within the residence and in the Shaka family as a whole. This is done through fun social events, community service days and cultural activities.

Meet Our Founder

Shaka Residence is the brain-child of respected serial entrepreneur, property investor and philanthropist, Mr Tshepo Letjane, who has established a number of businesses over the years with the most notable one being Shaka and Sihle Security Services – an executive security company providing guarding services to a number of bluechip clients across provinces.

In order to diversify his business risk, he started to invest in various properties which consisted of renovating residential houses to sell. And these led to his passion and commitment in property investment growing to building and owning a 30 unit medium-sized residential complex which is being rented by couples and familes, in Soshanguve, Pretoria called Sihle Residence.

Due to the success of the Sihle Residence, the entrepreneur decided to expand in the area by building 60 apartments – all consisting of two bedrooms. An apartment is designed to consist of its own bathroom, balcony, kitchen and built-in furniture.
